The Life · The Record

The Haunts.

The house’s kept notes on its places, gathered here — the record of The Life. The rooms the house favors — the harbors and fairways at the top of the local order. Listings are the house's own selection; no partnership is implied.

Balboa Yacht Club · Yachting · Corona del Mar

Founded 1922 at 1801 Bayside Drive, at the harbor entrance. A dining room and Thursday nights, a cruising fleet and an angling program, and an outstation at White's Cove on Catalina — racing is one strand of the life here, at Newport yachting's oldest guard.

House notes →
I

Newport Harbor Yacht Club · Yachting · Balboa Peninsula

The harbor's old clubhouse at 720 West Bay Avenue — a beach and a guest dock, a bar and dining room through the week, and a junior program that brings young sailors up through the house. A century of Newport summers has passed through these rooms.

House notes →
II

Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club · Yachting · Corona del Mar

Founded 1959 at 1601 Bayside Drive. Jazz and guest speakers on the calendar, a swimming pool, a very active cruising group, and a member-owned 68-slip marina — the club that sets out to be the friendliest on the harbor, and works at meaning it.

A private club at 1 Big Canyon Drive, in the Big Canyon enclave. An 18-hole championship course, fine dining, tennis and fitness — Newport's inner-circle country club.

The Paddock · In Detail

Watch it. Then call it.

We follow the championship's closing rounds two ways at once — from the finest seat we can build, and from the player's chair, with a call on every race. Here is what the house keeps on the sports side.

The Paddock · The Plates

Five circuits, drawn by the house

  • Every circuit of the run-in — Mexico City, São Paulo, Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi — drawn plate by plate, each with House, Map and Satellite views.
  • A verified dossier rides with every plate: the corners that decide it, the fastest laps on record, the facts that matter on the day.
  • While a session runs, live driver dots move on the four fitted plates — Mexico City, São Paulo, Las Vegas and Qatar — the field on the circuit as it happens.
Race Weekend · The House Read

Every fixture, read before it runs

  • Rounds 20 to 24 in full: session times and fixture details for every remaining weekend, from first practice to the race.
  • The championship standings — drivers and constructors — kept with the fixtures as the title fight closes.
  • The House Read sets a PAYS on every fixture: the house's own price on each call, published before lights out and settled on the official result.
The Fantasy League · The Run-In Cup

One call a race, for the Cup

  • Call each race one of two ways — the winner, or a podium finish — and stake Newport Points on the call. One call per race; that is the whole game.
  • Every member is allotted 1,000 Newport Points a month, and a correct call pays at the fixture's PAYS. Points have no cash value — the Cup is played for the honour of it.
  • A settled race carries its winner in gold — 🏆 Winner on the fixture — and 🏆 tallies gather beside the members who topped each race.
  • The champion is crowned at Abu Dhabi on Sunday, December 6, and the house will mark the champion properly.
The Local Calendar

The calendar is the club.

The house keeps Newport Beach's season. These are Newport's own published fixtures — the clubs', the city's, the harbor's — and the house gathers around them: evenings on the water, the harbor lit for December, the rooms where the town already meets. Below Newport's own season, we keep a short list from around Newport — a few nights worth the short drive, kept separate and plainly labeled. Nothing here is staged by the house; everything here is worth showing up for.

The House

A word before the season.

House Gentry started with a simple observation: Newport Beach has the best rooms, the best water, and the best light in California — and no single house gathering the people who live for all three. This is that house. Evenings on the harbor, mornings on the fairways, a business table worth sitting at, and two prediction leagues for the joy of calling it right. The first season is being arranged now. Join the list, and we'll see you at the table.
